CAKEMIX is a live act celebrating the music of the band CAKE.
We deliver high-energy, family-friendly live performances of up to 90 minutes targeted primarily at spring-summer-fall community festivals and private parties within driving distance of St. Louis, MO. We usually rehearse in Bethalto, IL 62010.
We're not precisely a tribute band or a cover band. Imagine CAKEMIX as an originals act with great songs, which all happen to be written by CAKE. We nails the hooks, and otherwise use CAKE's arrangements as a template to show off our member's talents and strengths. I call it an artistic tribute.
CAKEMIX is a vehicle for the band to practice the art and craft of transcendent live music performance and to share those experiences with audiences. No clicks, no tracks, no LED screens. This is about you and being your very best at performing live to entertain.
We're looking for core members, sidemen, gig-savers, roadies and techs. If you have an interest in any role in the project, please get in touch. If you are a good fit, I will find a way to fit you in.

The band members
Bradley Neil is our frontman. He is taking a turn at the microphone after decades behind the drums in original bands. A stage and studio veteran, he has performed for audiences of all sizes.
Marc Levitt is our lead guitarist. A recent NYC transplant, Marc has been playing guitar for over 40 years, blending funk, blues, and jazz with a gritty rock edge — and a nod to the absurd. Equally at home with originals or well-worn covers, he plays with instinct and intensity, inviting listeners to follow wherever the music leads.
Rodney Rice, Jr. is our bassist. He’s into the heavy edge of metal, the swagger of hard rock, and the soul of blues, bringing all of that to the groove-driven world of Cake’s alternative sound.
Come audition to be our drummer. We currently have a stable of gig-saver drummers on call, including Chip Mooneyham.
